The Invitation to Serve Others | Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius | Vedic Astrology Forecast for August 18th, 2016

lunar eclipse in aquarius, full moon in aquariusOn August 18th, 2016 around 5:17am the height of the Full Moon occurred with the Sun in sidereal Leo and the Moon in Sidereal Aquarius. This full moon also occurs on the Eclipse axis of the Nodes.

The recent New Moon in Cancer initiated a lunar cycle of exploring the connection to our emotional hearts, our connections to others and the ways that we use our emotional energy. The invitation for our Soul to open more deeply to love and the possibility of peace had now been carried by the Sun into Leo, where we begin to express our creative nature based upon what we most love.

There is an intensity in Leo at this time, because the Sun (our Power) is joined by Venus (our capacity for Happiness) and Mercury (our intelligence, speech and communication). And to amplify all of this energy, there is also Rahu which represents our collective and personal obsessions and confusions.

Leo is ruled by the Sun, and represents the experience where our Soul shines its light into the world as an individual. It is connected to inspiration and leadership when that Soul is motivated towards good and love, and it can also become domination and overpowering energy when the Soul is motivated towards selfishness or darker influences.

And so here in Leo, Rahu and these three planets are creating a large focus on the journey of the individual soul. Rahu creates a confused obsession with understanding the nature of Leo as the individual creative power manifesting into the world. This has the potential for some to really embrace their creative power, and for others it will be like a self-absorbed actor on stage shouting “Look at me! Look how brilliant and bright I am!”.   Or worse yet, a controlling self-absorbed leader.

Rahu’s energy in Leo can be powerful in focusing us towards much needed personal power and inspired vision, but the journey to gain clarity must be sought through the fog of Rahu’s influence. Yet, the confusion can make us even more determined to figure it out. In the end it serves a positive function to help us open into new expressions and learn what needs to be discovered in order to find deeper truths and wisdom.

Meanwhile, the Full Moon is over in Aquarius with Ketu. The Moon represents the mind and our emotional feeling nature. Whereas Leo’s focus is on individual power, Aquarius forms the natural balance point opening into greater awareness of the collective, society and humanitarian expression.

The challenge to this natural balance point is that Ketu tends to create a negative or critical state of confusion. In this case a negation of the needs of the many in favor of Rahu’s obsession with discovering personal creative power. Plus, Leo has much more energy in it due to the 4 planets there.

Under simpler configurations, the invitation of the Full Moon in Aquarius would be deeper awareness of the Collective while also standing in our own personal creative power. But due to the other planets in Leo, and especially the nodes in eclipse mode, it is revealing the deep collective shadow karma of focusing more on serving individual power than the needs of the collective.

The Eclipse amplifies the energy, pointing to the need to heal the deeper imbalance. Sometimes it takes amplification of what isn’t working in order to recognize that change is needed. And this eclipse is inviting that deeper awareness. How do we get back to balance? What needs to be healed and resolved to allow us to include a deeper awareness on the needs of the many?

Of course, it’s wonderful for people to find a sense of inspired personal creative power. And this energy strongly invites the search to find and refine that aspect of our soul’s expression. But we must also be willing to consciously create the balance and honor the needs of the collective as well. Notice now how much of our current global situation have people talking about “me”, and “my needs”, and “my fears”. We all need to stop and re-invite awareness of also considering what serves all of us.

This eclipse and Full Moon is occurring with a short period of time after Jupiter moving into Virgo and Saturn going direction. While it’s true that “change is constant” and a natural part of life, major seed points of change are shown by the planets changing signs, the eclipses and the lunar cycles.

It will be interesting to see what is shaken up from the vibrational plunge into this axis, and what the fallout may be around finding the balance between individual creative power and the needs of the collective as we move through the next 3 to 6 months.

What changes are you experiencing? What is showing up for you around personal creative power in relationship to the needs of society and the global collective? What judgments, limited beliefs, selfish impulses or experiences are showing up within you and those around you that may be revealing invitations to heal and step into a higher state of consciousness in this area?

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.

Hope, Determination and a Plan for Change | Jupiter to Virgo & Saturn goes Direct | Vedic Astrology Forecast for August 13th, 2016

Jupiter enters VirgoFor the past 13 Months (since July 14th, 2015), we have been experiencing Jupiter in Leo. Here, Jupiter has been dancing through various expressions of inspired principles and the motivations to act upon then. The hope is that it has connected us to a higher vision of purpose, principles and wisdom and has inspired us to take action to share those with the world, and to bring those higher principles into reality.

On August 11th, 2016 Jupiter crossed into the Sidereal Sign of Virgo. Jupiter represents our principles and sense of meaning through beliefs and the higher teachings we are connected with. It is the source of hope, optimism and inspiration that causes us to seek growth, expansion and evolution.

Virgo is ruled by Mercury, showing that it operates through intelligence, curiosity and discrimination. Virgo is also an Earth sign showing its practical nature. It is motivated towards protection, towards finding problems and averting them. It seeks to be practical and helpful in an effort to sustain comfort and safety. And it does this through creating order.

Virgo is the feminine expression of Mercury, which reveals the movements of our inner intelligence to organize and manage the details of the world. It wants to be of service and improve the world. If Leo represents the “kingdom”, then Virgo’s job is to manage the details that allow the kingdom to run efficiently and effectively.

Virgo has a dutiful, responsible attitude that is motivated to be of service. But, it can also experience worry, frustration and a critical nature when its vision of order and implementation does not match what is happening around it.

As with most sign placements, Jupiter in Virgo can have both beneficial and challenging implications. The potential positive influence of Virgo on Jupiter is that is can help to organize and create a plan for manifesting our deeper sense of purpose and meaning into the world. From this perspective the Virgo influence brings a strong sense of discrimination to assess how to organize a plan and stay on track. And this force of discrimination also knows what to avoid and how to avert danger. Our higher teachings and principles operating through healthy discrimination can help us get down to the details that really matter and do the work necessary to make it happen.

The potential challenge of Jupiter in Virgo is that Jupiter is expansive, creative, hopeful and optimistic by nature. And Virgo’s worried, dutiful nature may cause Jupiter to feel frustrated and stuck in the details when it just wants to open and express itself. So, creating the plan and implementing a higher vision may feel a little frustrated at times both due to being caught in details as well as the effort and focus needed to stay on course.

Too much focus on this challenged experience of Jupiter in Virgo can keep us collectively stuck in a feeling of hopelessness. It can also keep us focused only on our own needs and our own selfish agendas.

At the same time, Jupiter’s presence in Virgo will bring hope and optimism into the process of creating the plan, if we choose to connect to it. It will expand our awareness of the details and the effort that we need in order to improve our lives and our circumstances.

As is often said, our experiences of life reflect where we focus our attention and our intention. The invitation here is to consciously choose to focus on the opportunity to improve our circumstances. To focus on Jupiter’s expansive, hopeful nature with the intention of allowing its grace to lift up the world. And to form plans and ways of managing our lives and our world’s countries that emphasize goodness and deep wisdom.

If we just fight against what isn’t working, our attention and intention stays aligned with the experience of “there’s a problem”. Instead, we need to find practical solutions. We need to be practical and realistic while also increasing our hope and optimism that there is a path towards a better society, a better global community and a way to infuse our daily lives with hope, meaning and inspiration by doing the practical things that need to be done to make it happen. As a phrase that has been helpful for one of my clients: it is time to “do what needs to be done in order for us to get what we want” while keeping joy, love and compassion as the underlying intention.

On August 13th early in the morning, Saturn ended its long period of retrograde activity and finally turned direct. Over the next week or 2 it will build momentum moving in a forward direction. Saturn is a planet of commitment that teaches us through limitation and the pressure of time. Through it we learn the we must create determination and ambition within our self to improve our circumstances. We learn that we only have so much time to create the changes that we want. And we also learn that sometimes things take longer than we might wish they would to manifest.

Through these limitations we learn patience, practicality, and a maturity towards life. During its retrograde phase, this ambition and determination “backed up”, creating a feeling of frustration and stuckness. Whether through lack of motivation or the feeling that effort didn’t create much movement, Saturn in retrograde forces us to deal with limitation and the pressure of uncertainly.

As Saturn builds its momentum moving forward, those feelings of being stuck and frustrated should start to fade away. As it is still in Scorpio, it is still supporting a deeper transformational process of all of us. And turning direct now will allow the inner transformations that have happened below the surface to now soften and begin to show up in our lives. Through the frustration and stuckness comes clarity, and now the energy of Saturn will support us in creating determined ambition to destroy what doesn’t work and to strengthen the areas of life that need improving.

It is time to recommit to your own growth and transformation. It is time to connect your deeper principles and sense of meaning and purpose into your practical daily life. To implement a plan for improving your life that is motivated by hope, optimism and the deeper values and teachings that inspire you.

What changes and inspirations are you noticing in your own life and in the world around you? What places of stuckness are starting to free up or creating the feeling that you are “done with being stuck” and feeling the inner motivation to move forward start to build?

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.

Love, Connection and Emotional Integrity | New Moon in Cancer | Vedic Astrology Forecast for August 2nd, 2016

New Moon In CancerHaving explored new perspectives and tried to understand others points of views through the recent Gemini New Moon Lunar Cycle, we now bring that experience into the Sidereal Sign of Cancer.

The Sun entered Cancer after midnight on July 16th. And the New Moon in Cancer will occur on August 2nd around 4:44pm EDT. This starts a new cycle where we bring what we learned from Gemini into the Inner Emotional Heart and search for what inspires love and peace.

Cancer is ruled by the Moon which represents out Inner heart and our capacity for Love. Through the Moon, we learn to Connect to others through the heart. Cancer is also a water sign, which represents our emotional nature. It has a pure nature, motivated to do good things. Through the energy of Cancer, we learn about the nature of emotions. We learn how to be vulnerable in order to open to love and connect to other people.

The journey of the Heart towards love for most is challenging, because being vulnerable means allowing our inner and private nature to be seen. And the fear of vulnerability can cause us to try to control the world around us to keep ourselves feeling safe. Also, in attempts to experience connection and love, in the early stages we may cling to others with the feeling of needing others or an unspoken plea of “please love me!”.

Through the journey into the heart, we learn that clinging doesn’t work. We must learn to open, trust, and surrender. We must learn to allow others to be as they are, and learn also to love our own Self as the secret to experiencing deeper love from others. Through the experience of Cancer we eventually learn that deep and authentic love requires that we learn how to safely open our hearts and allow our true self to be revealed in safe ways. The deepest part of us longs to be fully accepted and seen without judgment, criticism or expectation. We long for unconditional love. But before we can feel safe letting ourselves be seen, we must be willing to see and love our own self unconditionally as well.

Through this cycle of the Cancer New Moon, themes around love, acceptance, vulnerability and connection to others will be activated. And with its placement in Ashlesha nakshatra, it will contain the exploration of how our hidden subconscious nature conditions us to use our emotional heart in connection with others. Ashlesha adds the question “How do I use my connections and emotional nature?” Do I unconsciously or consciously use others for my own personal ends, through manipulation or cunning? Or do I connect out of genuine love, openness and higher intuitive nature?

This New Moon especially invites us to explore our own personal use and the collective use of emotional energy, trust and connection. It invites us to ask ourselves honestly what our motivations are as we engage with others. It encourages us to be brutally honest honest with ourselves so we are emotionally clear and act with integrity. And if we realize we have been manipulating other people, how can we shift that towards accepting them as they are with love and kindness, rather than attempting to control them? How can we invite connection rather than use them to meet our own needs?

These same questions will become more prominent in the collective experience as well. As the political process unfolds and the global economic and government structures change, who is being honest about their motives? And how do we find the balance between bringing truth to light, while avoiding the emotional manipulation of others to see things our way? How can we find deeper compassion for those who have different opinions that our own? How can we learn to connect and love unconditionally, even when another’s values may differ from ours? And how can we retain peace of mind while navigating the political process?

The Moon and sign of Cancer are ultimately trying to evolve us towards discovering a Love and inner stillness that brings us peace. There are no doubts that there are issues with the political system. Emotionally charged propaganda is sometimes used to convince us of “what is right”, even when the deeper motivation for it is not stated out right. But, when the divisive ploys cause the 2 sides to debate and argue amongst themselves, it becomes a distraction from the deeper question of “how can we all work together to find the best solution?”.

“I am right and you are wrong” doesn’t lead to solutions. How can we connection, be authentic, communicate and hear eachother in a way that everyone feels honored, validated and respected even when there is still disagreement? And then discover a path to compromise and meet the underlying needs of both sides?

Mercury entered Leo on July 26th and Venus followed on July 31st. They join Rahu and Jupiter there, which brings our speech and communication (Mercury), our capacity for happiness (Venus), our higher principles (Jupiter) and our unconscious drive to experience (Rahu) all together in the sign of inspiration, leadership and creative expression. This can support a feeling of hope and inspiration, but still has some confusion (Rahu) infused in it, revealing that we are all collectively struggling to figure out a shared sense of purpose and higher principles to operate from. Venus in Leo feels happy, but can also take on a selfish drive like a Queen that demands her happiness is served by her subjects. “Please me now, my subjects!”

This placement of Venus can bring a selfish edge in relationships and the process of compromise needed for 2 people or 2 groups to find a way to create a win-win situation when conflict arises.

The good news is that, out of the confusion we eventually come to clarity. Life is a process of evolving and growth.   It becomes easier when we consciously participate and embrace change.

I also remind you that Mars and Saturn in Scorpio are continuing to invite us collectively to heal and transform our insecurities and are bringing hidden uses of power into the collective awareness so it can be addressed and rebalanced.

So, during this Cancer New Moon window, especially, I encourage you to feel deeply into these questions. How are you using your emotional energy? What are your experiences of giving and receiving love, and do they serve to take you to deeper peace? What emotionally vulnerable spaces have you been hiding and protecting, and how can you nurture them into safety? How can you use Love to heal your inner conflicts? How can you use love to heal the polarity, confusion and divisiveness that is happening in our country and in our world right now?

What are you noticing happening within yourself and in the world around you in relationship to this Cancer New Moon energy?

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.

Finding Peace within the Storm | Full Moon in Capricorn | Vedic Astrology Forecast for July 19th, 2016

full moon in capricorn, moon, moonlight

In my Gemini New Moon report, I shared that it began a new Lunar cycle around exploring new perspectives and trying to better understand the perspectives and experiences of others. These Lunar cycles last for almost 30 days and the beginning energy or “seed point” of the New Moon tends to reverberate through the whole cycle. I specifically mentioned that the cycle would begin in Ardra Nakshatra which “is a challenging energy that is like a storm of chaos that destabilizes our old understanding of things. Is brings the opportunity for healing and a return to peace and order, but only after the catharsis and crisis of bringing the deeper imbalance into awareness.” Ardra is known for bringing chaos and destruction and is often linked to natural disasters, floods, earthquakes, etc.

Within days of the New Moon, we began to see chaos and catharsis in the form of the death of Philando Castile by shooting in a traffic stop. We have since seen Police shootings in Dallas, the death of Alton Sterling by police, an attempted Coup in Turkey, the many deaths in Nice, France from a terrorist attack using a truck, and the police shot and killed in Baton Rouge.

We are also continuing to be witness to a presidential political process that is bringing great concern and division to our country.

In early November 2014, Saturn moved into Scorpio bringing great pressure into our collective fears and insecurities. Scorpio also relates to “hidden” things, and hidden uses of power. Saturn has been churning these things as an opportunity to bring them into awareness so they can be healed. Many changes in Planetary positions have been bringing more Religious ideology, confused belief systems and added violence into the collective experience as part of the activation of fears and insecurities.

For the Lunar eclipse on March 23rd, I also share that it was initiating a powerful cycle of transforming and shifting our understanding and relationship to Power. These eclipse cycles tend to reverberate and influence the unfolding collective experience for about 6 months. This shift around Power is still underway, and is being revealed in these events as well including the use of power with military, police and our government. The hidden use of power within the very organizations and structures that we have trusted to protect us and keep us safe. And the collective fears for our safety and the abuse of power showing up both through terrorist attacks, as well as without our own “protectors”.

The New Moon in Gemini energy is has brought more communication and awareness to what has been happening below the surface. Until the deeper cause is seen, we cannot heal the wounds that are the cause. It is inviting deeper conversation and communication around what it happening within our nation and around the world. We are also seeing the primal reactions of violence are’t solving the problem, even while many of us can relate to the anger and rage that might inspire such violence in the first place.

Through the recent events following the New Moon, we have seen Venus shift into Sidereal Cancer on July 7th, following by Mercury on July 10th and the Sun on July 16th. And Mars, which had recently gone direct in Libra, returned back to Scorpio on July 12th.

The Mars transition can potential bring more violence in reaction to fears and insecurities. But, it also invites us to evolve its expression and to choose courage to face our fears and heal through them rather than lashing out in violent defence.

The three planets now in Cancer are bringing our happiness (Venus), our speech and communication (Mercury) and our Power and Sense of Self (Sun) into the deeper emotional heart of feeling. Cancer is a sign where we are invited to feel more deeply, to open our hearts and develop compassion and a more evolved unconditional state of love. We are being invited to feel into the world around us that has been revealed more deeply by the Gemini New Moon, and to allow ourselves to awaken our hearts in an effort to discover a deeper perspective where we can find peace.

This strong Cancer energy may be causing us to pause and really allow ourselves to feel the impact of the recent events, and to amplify the connection to the part of us that just wants to restore peace to our hearts. It may also invite us to connect with the part of us that can have compassion for the victims and families of the recent violent attacks and abuses of power.  And, perhaps, to also find some compassion for those who felt that responding with violence was their only hope. This is not to justify their behavior, but only to attempt to understand the level of pain and fear they must have been in to feel that this was their best solution.

And beyond all of that, to also find compassion for yourself as we all seek to find the best course of action to heal our collective situation.

You may find yourself feeling more emotional or more vulnerable at this time. And as the Full Moon reaches its peak on July 19th around 6:37pm EDT, it marks the mid point in the Lunar Cycle. From the New Moon up until the Full Moon, the energy is expanding and growing stronger. The Full Moon marks the point where the intensity has reached its height, and it begins to dissolve and integrate. As the light reduces over the next 2 weeks, there is a falling away, and we may find that a deeper grieving or sense of loss awakens as we attempt to understand and integrate all of these recent events.

The Full Moon in Capricorn also reminds us of the balance point to the wide open, vulnerable feeling space of Cancer. In Capricorn, we are reminded that creating some emotional boundaries and learning to regulate the level of our vulnerability is a part of learning to safely navigate the world. Through this, we learn to stabilize our emotions and to also learn to set aside emotions when they do not serve us. For instance, many violent acts come out of a primal reaction to deep emotion. By learning how to stabilize them, we can more clearly and rationally assess the best and most effective way to respond to what we are feeling.

As we collectively open deeper into our hearts and feel the effects of what is happening around us, try to find compassion and peace in healthy ways. Allow yourself to give and receive love with the important people in your life, to celebrate the loving connections that you have. Try to find compassion for those who have been more directly involved with the recent events as well.

It is Love and acceptance that will ultimately heal our global situation. The more you can contribute to that and model it for your Self and others, the deeper the healing effect for our planet. The more we stay in fear, the longer it will take to heal our world.

Use this time to feel, but also stabilize. To integrate and be with what has been moving through you. And also remind yourself that you are safe in this moment. The events we are witnessing are a part of the Purification and healing process that our collective world is going through. We can only heal what we become aware of, and these events are bringing the hidden forces into our awareness. They have been there for a long time. Do not imagine that “things are getting worse”. Instead realize that we must be able to face the truth before it can be transformed.

How are you experiencing these energies in your life?

Enjoyment and Curiosity About Life | New Moon in Gemini | Vedic Astrology Forecast for July 4th, 2016

new moon, moon, sky

The New Moon in Sidereal Gemini will occur around 7am EDT on July 4th, with a window of influence spanning 2 days before and 2 days after. The New Moon, of course, begins a new lunar cycle and is the point where the Sun and Moon come together at the same point in the sky. It is a “dark” moon, and shows an inward movement of consciousness where the previous cycle ends and a new one begins. It plants a seed for the upcoming lunar cycle.

Venus is also in Gemini, and Mercury moved into Gemini on June 26th. This New moon therefore brings together our Soul’s Power (Sun), our Mind and emotional heart (Moon), our capacity for happiness (Venus) and our intellect and capacity for communication (Mercury).

Gemini is the 3rd sign of the Zodiac and is ruled by Mercury. It is the Outer Intelligence moving in the world through the sharing of ideas, creativity, and play. It seeks to explore and understand the world and find ways to share and communicate that understanding to others. It is also a curious energy, and delights in variety and new experiences. In a sense it really just wants to explore, enjoy and not be tied down to anything.

In this regard, you may find yourself being curious and wanting to play and have fun this weekend. Gemini can express in a superficial way that just wants to joke, laugh and enjoy what life has to offer. And quite frankly, we all probably need that some time. So have some fun!

In another sense, Gemini also seeks to understand the world through ideas. It enjoys seeing multiple perspectives and spinning ideas around to understand all sides. The New Moon will be taking place in the Nakshatra of Ardra. Which means that this new lunar cycle will be also influenced by a deeper questioning of the complicated circumstances that our world finds itself in. Ardra is a challenging energy that is like a storm of chaos that destabilizes our old understanding of things. Is brings the opportunity for healing and a return to peace and order, but only after the catharsis and crisis of bringing the deeper imbalance into awareness.

Our world is in great flux. The recent Brexit vote, the state of the EU as well as our own presidential election process is all creating great uncertainty and division. And this uncertainty is driven by the fears of the unknown, distrust of our leaders and the feelings that other people “can’t see the truth”.

With this much Gemini energy at play, it is a great time to stop and question how it is that we even go about the process of exploring the world. How are we even acquiring information? And how much are we willing to explore and be curious about other perspectives?

For most people, information is gathered from “the News”. And we tend to be drawn to News that is presented from our own perspectives. We tend to associate with friend who share our beliefs. We tend to interact with others on social media who also share our beliefs. And when we run across someone who believes differently, the tendency is to think the other person “can’t see the truth clearly”. I myself have observed many arguments on Facebook that have lead to declarations of “If you don’t like what I have to say, then just shut up! It’s my wall!”. Or, even “If you don’t agree with me, you can unfriend me right now!”

We live in a world of diversity. Different backgrounds. Different values. Different opinions. And I can certainly understand not wanting to spend time with those who don’t share specific values. But, isn’t there also room to respectfully “agree to disagree”? Other people are interesting, strange and hard to figure out sometimes. And while there are certainly people who are dangerous, violent and filled with hate that are probably worth avoiding, there are a lot of other people who are basically good people but with a different way of seeing the world.

With this level of Gemini coming up for the collective, especially with a link to trying to understand “what the heck is happening” in our world, I encourage you to expand your level of curiosity. Sure, Gemini energy can make you want to spend all day watching the news and communicating with friends about political perspectives that you agree with. But those things are likely to just reinforce what you already believe. I invite you to be curious enough to even question your own perspectives on things.

The point is not that you are “wrong”, necessarily. It’s not the assumption that you should or will change your opinion. The curiosity I suggest is more about making a conscious, sincere effort to understand the other side’s perspectives. Try to understand the sincerity of their beliefs so that you can better understand the humanness of their way of seeing things. Even if their opinions come from fear and misinformation, try to understand how and why they are seeing it that way. Try to see it through their eyes and have compassion for their experience of life. And even while you are not likely to AGREE with their perspective, you can at least understand why they see it that way. The primary point being that if we continue to see our world in terms of “us against them”, nobody wins.

So that is my challenge and encouragement for this Gemini time. Try to better understand ALL the perspectives of what is happening. Not just your own. Be curious about things you have never thought about before.

Gemini in its purity really has very little attachment or emotional charge about it. It explores “the facts and perspectives” in a non-biased, non-judgmental way. And then reports all the angles. It’s what “the news” really should be. Just information without bias. Gemini energy itself is about “stepping outside your box” and becoming really curious about the world in a playful way. Explore, discover and gain understanding. Test ideas and see what works.

By being more rounded, and better informed we also have the opportunity to see new solutions and make better decisions about how to respond to our current situations. When emotions run high, it’s hard to see things clearly because we are operating from a primal fight or flight response. When we really listen to the other side, even when we will don’t agree, we open lines of communication and mutual respect that allow compromise and change to occur peacefully.

On June 29th, Mars returned to direct motion. The reflection and confusion around action has now passed and the ability to move forward is now better supported. Rahu and Jupiter were recently right on top of eachother, creating great confusion around principles and ideals. Jupiter is moving away. Still under the influence of Rahu’s confusion, but separating from it.

What energy are you wanting to create during the new Lunar cycle? Will use the Gemini energy to keep exploring and communicating what you already believe, or will you become curious to better understand the world around you and the perspectives that are different from yours? Will you be curious enough to question your own ideas and make sure they are still working?

While you are having fun and enjoying some playful laughter this weekend, it is likely the current political issues will arise in the context of reflecting upon the Independence of the United States of America. It is a time that can strengthen our resolve to find the best solutions through mutual understanding and cooperation. Will you be willing to ask questions and explore the perspectives of others? If you do, you are likely to find that you have more in common that you imagined, even if there are things you disagree about.

Aren’t we all just wanting to be happy, healthy and safe?

Finding Meaning Through New Experiences | Full Moon in Sagittarius  | Vedic Astrology Forecast for June 20th, 2016

FullMoonOverWaterIn the last week, two planets have moved into Sidereal Gemini.  Venus on June 12th and the Sun shifted on June 14th.

This brings our Soul’s Power (Sun) and our capacity for happiness (Venus) into Gemini’s realm   of playfulness, curiosity and creativity.  Gemini is an air sign, showing its social and mental nature.  It is ruled by Mercury which shows its quick minded intellect and skilled speech and communication.

Gemini is playful, humorous and usually pretty unattached.  It loves new experiences, and has a wonderful capacity to see things from multiple perspectives.  In its own energy, it can be challenged to stick with one idea or one experiences for very long, as it is likely to get bored and then rush off for the next thing.

With Sun and Venus here, you may be finding yourself being drawn to eploring new ideas or experiences.  Perhaps you are just in the mood to be entertained.  Perhaps you are feeling a little open to new ways of exploring pleasure and happiness.  Perhaps you are just feeling a little more free and playful.

On a potentially challenged side, you may also be feeling distracted or having trouble focusing on what you want to manifest in your life.  Or frustrate as you notice others in that state.  Maybe work needs to get done, and your mind is pulling you towards what feels fun instead.

On June 20th around 7am the Moon will be full in Sagittarius.  This is the opposite position from Gemini, and reveals the balancing energy needed to best utilize the Gemini energy.

While our power and happiness is in Gemini, the Moon shows that our mind and emotional heart are are connected to a deeper sense of purpose and seeking meaning.

Left to its own devices, Gemini will just bounce from one idea and experience to another.  The novelty of each perspective will be its own satisfaction.  But, with the Moon in Sagittarius we are invited to find deeper meaning to the experiences and ideas we encounter.  They are not just for fun and entertainment, or even just intellectual stimulation. Instead they become education, ideas and experiences which inform us about the deeper teachings and nature of ourselves and there world around us.

So, you may be finding yourself learning something or exploring something that will be integrated into your own understanding of life and the bigger picture beyond just our human existence.  This could be an intentional learning, or perhaps you will just wax a little more philosophical about the experiences that Gemini pulls you into.

On June 17th, Mars retrograde returned to Libra.  This placement can bring some agitation to relationships right now.  And it also places an aspect on Mercury in Taurus, which shows that our speech, communication and intellect may also feel frustrated.  Since Mercury is the ruler of Gemini, maybe the seeking of fun and new experiences feels agitated instead of enjoyable right now.

For my own experience, I found myself at a weekend training program leading into the full Moon window. So, I was learning and exploring new ideas.  And I was also integrating what I learned into my own understanding of purpose and higher teachings. That shows the balance of Gemini and Sagittarius happening.

The group of people attending were all very friendly and very social.  The workshop leader commented that she had never seen a group of people in her workshops be so social with each other before.  It was the first time she could ever remember that she had to go find all the participants and get them to stop talking to each other when it was time to start back up.  Additionally,  there were many side tangents and unexpected conversations within the group during formal class time.  All of this reflects the influence of Gemini.

I invite you to notice what is happening within you and around you also. What is showing up that reflects these energies for you?

The Desire For Happiness | New Moon in Taurus | Vedic Astrology Forecast for June 4th, 2016

New moon in Taurus

The exact point of the New Moon in Sidereal Taurus will happen on June 4th around 11pm EDT. This begins a new Lunar Cycle with a near exact conjunction of Venus, Sun and Moon. It is an activation point which will bring together our Mind/hearts (Moon), our Soul’s Power and Self Identity (Sun) and our capacity for Happiness and enjoyment (Venus).

Taurus is an Earth sign ruled by Venus, showing its invitation to find pleasure and enjoyment within the material world. It enjoys beauty, comfort, and pleasure. This can include sensuality, good food, art and connections to nature. It is also a fixed sign, which adds to the Earth’s natural tendency towards stability. And the Bull is a symbol of Taurus, showing its strength and its slow plodding nature. It is capable of slow and steady action when it is motivated to achieve a desirable outcome. And when it isn’t motivated by a desired outcome, it is indifferent and would rather rest and relax.

Taurus energy is very grounding and stabilizing to the mind. This also reveals how our connection to relaxation, beauty and enjoyment help to ground and stabilize us in the world as well. When life starts to feel out of control, dramatic, or unstable, a good dose of rest, relaxation and the experience of enjoyment are often a great remedy. Since Venus is also here at this time, it will strengthen the deeper connection to happiness and pleasure while the Sun allows us to explore the movement of our Soul’s power in expressing itself through these experiences of enjoyment and rest.

If you have been pushing and forcing your way through life, this New Moon in Taurus is an invitation to give yourself permission to slow down and enjoy nature, time with your family and the pleasures of life. If you aren’t able to stop yourself from pushing, this energy may feel frustrating. But it is a fertile and creative energy that inspired new growth, abundance and clearer awareness of what you really desire in life.

This invitation is also being influenced by an oppositional aspect from Saturn in Scorpio. Saturn in this position may produce some fear or anxiousness and make it more challenging to relax. Saturn may also make us more aware of the nature of time, bringing about either appreciation for the slowness of Taurus and supporting commitment and endurance, or it may also create a feeling pressure for deadlines and frustration with the slowness.

Saturn here may also amplify the desire to be still and rest in a way the creates fear of moving forward. In this context it may amplify the side of Taurus which can get too comfortable and resists changing and growing. So, be sure that you don’t allow the healthy need for rest to become so stable that it becomes “stuckness”.

In the last couple of days building to the New Moon, I have observed this energy operating within my Healing Practice as well. It has brought a wave of new Healing Clients who are seeking to reconnect with the deeper happiness and joy of their own Authentic Self. They are wanting to stabilize their minds (Moon) into greater peace, learn to nurture their own happiness (Venus) and reconnect with their Soul’s Power (Sun). Saturn and Mars have both been retrograde in Scorpio for a while inviting Transformation and using our fears and insecurities as fuel for growth and courage.

The Saturn aspect on the Sun, Moon and Venus has created a pressure within them for wanting to get unstuck, and a stronger desire to commit to their own healing and growth.

What have been your experiences of this energy in your life? Are you ready to commit to your own healing and growth as well?

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.

Evolving Stability and Enjoyment | Full Moon in Scorpio| Vedic Astrology Forecast for May 21st, 2016

FullMoonOverWaterThe current lunar cycle began on May 6th with the New Moon in Aries.  This was a starting point to a new cycle of action and direction.  A rebirth of sorts.

With the inspiration of that Aries New Moon energy to plant new seeds, the Sun then moved into Taurus on May 14th.  Here it carries the power of that inspired energy into the realm of Material manifestation.

Taurus is ruled by Venus which is the planet of happiness, enjoyment, sensuality and relationship. It is an Earth sign, showing its practical nature.  And it is a fixed sign showing its tendency for consistency and the desire to work with what it already has rather than start new projects.

Taurus as a sign invites the experience of stability.  It often seeks pleasure through connections to family, as well as through sensual enjoyment of beauty, foods, touch, rest and relaxation.  Taurus is often thought of as lazy and comfort seeking, which is certainly a potential. But is also has the strength and focus of the Bull.

It isn’t so much lazy, as that it only takes action when it is truly inspired or motivated towards a particular end result which will be pleasing to it.  Without that inspiration and focus is just doesn’t notice any reason to take action, and thus prefers to rest, relax and enjoy life.

As a positive force, this energy of Taurus is grounding and stabilizing.  And it also encourages us to take action on our creative impulses that are inspired and will bring us pleasure and happiness in the earthly realm. So, it is a good time to take the inspirations from the Aries new moon and bring into awareness the impulses that will really make you happy and work toward them in a slow and steady way.

Venus will also transit into Taurus on May 19th.  This will amplify the comfort and pleasure seeking qualities of Taurus, and will also bring themes of relationship and shared enjoyment with others into the collective awareness.   So our soul’s power (Sun) and our capacity for desire and happiness (Venus) are both operating through the energy or Taurus at this time.

This will make for a strong desire towards material and sensual pleasure, and a stronger motivation towards just being comfortable.

As a force within human experience, these qualities of pleasure, comfort and stability are important for us to all connect with.  But the potential challenge here is becoming so comfortable and so grounded in pleasure, inaction or in the stability of habit and routine that there is no room for growth or change.

On May 21st at 5:15 am EDT, the Full Moon in Scorpio will reach its peak. Since this is the midpoint of the lunar cycle that began in Aries, it carries forth our original impulse and motivation for new projects and action. As the Sun moves into Taurus it invites us to choose the most desirable of our impulses and encourages us to ground and enjoy.  The full moon in Scorpio then reminds us of the balance needed here, which is that we must not get stuck in comfort and routine.

Instead, Scorpio Moon here connects our mind with a desire for growth and transformation at the level of our hearts and minds.  It invites us to make room for change even if it may feel uncomfortable. This way we don’t become stuck and stagnant.

Where have you allowed “being comfortable” to become a predominant motivation towards habitual actions or inaction? Where has life become too routine?  Where has sensual enjoyment become a form of unhealthy indulgence? And how can you feel deeper into your emotional truth and explore your insecurities and fears? How have your routines, indulgences and inaction become an unconscious pattern of avoiding your own discomforts and sabotaging your own successes, happiness and freedom?

These are the questions that the Full Moon in Scorpio invites.  And with Saturn and Mars both in retrograde in Scorpio with this full moon there will be an even deeper invitation to reflect (retrograde) upon our fears and insecurities.  And with Saturn also to reflect upon the passing of time and what we are truly committed to. With Mars, we are invited to reflect upon the ways we use our strength and our actions.  Mars here will create potential agitation, while also allowing us to connect to the strength to transform and evolve our inner emotional fears into new possibilities and freedom.

Scorpio and Mars will also be aspecting the Sun and Venus in Taurus, which will put more pressure, anxiety and agitation into relationships and our sense of personal power.  These agitations and anxiety producing energies may actually cause us to cling more tightly to pleasure and comfort as a means of “feeling good again”. So be mindful of those possible tendencies.  Are you truly “enjoying life” in a way that supports, stablalizes and encourages growth and evolution?  Or are you seeking pleasure and comfort to avoid feeling discomfort and experiencing change?

In other areas of the current transits, Jupiter went direct on May 9th in Leo, which will support positive forward motion around our inspired hopes, principles and sense of purpose.  And Mercury will go direct in Aries on May 22nd. This will improve communications and the flow of ideas towards manifesting the recent inspiration and motivation from the New Moon in Aries.

How have you been experiencing this energy?  What have you noticed recently around your own desires for comfort and your potential routines?  What in life is inviting or forcing you to look at the ways that being “comfortable” has become a means to avoid growth and change?

Notice this in yourself, your friends and the world around you.

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.

Time for Action, Need For Change and Trump | New Moon in Aries | Vedic Astrology Forecast for May 6th, 2016

aires new moon, moon, sky

Since the recent Full Moon in Libra, Venus transited into Aries on April 25th and Mercury went Retrograde on April 28th. This sets up 2 interesting things as we approach the New Moon.

First, since the Moon entered Aries early on May 5th, during the New Moon window there will be FOUR planets in Aries. Second, with Mercury retrograde now, there are a total of FOUR of the major planets in Retrograde motion at this time.

“There’s a whole lot going on”, as some might say in the South. :-)

The Full Moon in Libra invited us to find a balance between our Individual self and our relationships with other. This New Moon (May 6th at 3:30pm EST) however, is inviting us to to really step strongly into our individual power and take empowered steps towards a new vision of life.  With the influence of the Full Moon, we should now be more aware of the impact of our individual power on other people.

Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac and represents the beginnings of new Adventures or a rebirth of sorts. It’s ruled by Mars which brings Strength and courage, and it is a fire sign which amplifies inspired action. Right now, we have the Sun in its strongest position connecting our own inner Power and Confidence of Self into this courage and inspired action. The Moon in Aries connects our Mind and emotions to this inspired, optimistic and action oriented energy. Venus here links our sense of happiness and pleasure to the strength and courageous actions that arise from our deeper Self. And Mercury in Aries connects our Speech, Communication and intellectual curiosity into starting new projects and taking courageous action.

We could say here that our Heart and Soul is being inspired to forge ahead and start some new projects and become more active in the world. And that our Sense of Joy and Happiness and desire to discover the best course of action and communicate it is linked right into that. Especially with Mercury in retrograde, there is a curious inner reflection being invited to explore the best course of action for the next steps, while also being inspired into action and starting new projects.

The energy of Aries is similar to the Sprouting of a new Seed. And we can see whatever new project or course of action we may be desiring to step into as an inner Seed of Creation. The “seed” is the desire, inspiration and impulse to grow and move into a new direction or to start a new project, or just to re-inspire a more active role towards a goal. And like a seed, there is a large amount of energy needed to “just get sprouted”. It take much more energy to get the seed to germinate and sprout than it does to continue growing once sprouted. And this is also similar to our own “new Projects”. We must overcome the inertia of habits and resistance, and invest a large amount of energy quickly just to get the momentum built into the new direction. And Aries offers us that through inspiration, enthusiasm, courage and strength.

Mercury joined Saturn, Mars and Jupiter as retrograde. This is bring a lot of energy that is inwardly reflecting. Retrograde often invites us to reflect on the theme of the energy the planets carries, as well as can literally invite connections to the past to arise in experience or in awareness. Mercury retrograde invites the reflections on our inner details, perspectives and curiosities. Saturn retrograde invites inner reflection on our experience of time, aging and our ability to commit to what best serves us including how much fear and anxiety we have around those themes. Mars retrograde invites inner reflection on our strength, courage and action and how disciplined we are in channeling it rather than growing frustrated and angry. And Jupiter retrograde invites inner refection on our principles, higher teachings and our relationship to hope, purpose and meaning.

Can you feel that the world is “backing up”? Can you feel the world asking serious questions about where we have been and where we are going as a Nation and as a global community?

Retrograde planets often reflect the inner workings of unresolved Karma being cycled through. Awareness of the “Mistakes of the past” with the invitation to not have history repeat itself.

My observation and also inner feeling is that there is growing global unrest and increasing awareness that “something needs to change”. This energy has been building for a while of course, and Donald Trump’s rise has been fueled by one pocket of that unrest. But there is also a counter movement against him rising with a different perspective on what needs to change. He is both “the poster child” of leader for the original disenfranchised group, and also the motivation for another group to sit up and pay more attention.

Our Entire political system is being questioned. Our medical system is again being requestioned. Our values, our purpose, our fears, our angers, our safety, and our future are all being reflected on in increasingly “urgent” ways.

Within the past 48 hours, Donald Trump has stepped forward as the Republican Nominee. Cruz and Kasich both have dropped out of the race. Interestingly, this final step of securing the nomination has occurred while Venus, Mercury and the Sun are in Aries. Because Donald Trump’s rising sign in Leo, ruled by the Sun, the SUN represents his own self. And it is, by transit, in its strongest position for Individual Power and Self-Will. It is also in his 9th house of grace, purpose and principle in a fiery and inspiring sign. Venus rules his 10th house, and so his Career is also connected to the strength of his Individual Power.

Mercury is there in retrograde. And as he has secured his nomination, he is now reflecting on the way he uses speech in connection to his Power and Career, and has stated that moving forward he wants to shift the campaign to being more “above board”. Meaning that he wants more kindness, less mudslinging and insults, and he wants discussions moving forward to truly be about the political issues effecting our nation. It is an inspired, optimistic and unexpected perspective given his past behavior. But it does reflect what is the inspired Aries energy and transits through his 9th house. And we will also see if this new intention stays in place, or if he returns the “the old Trump” in his behavior.

Notice also the strong Retrograde activity as Cruz and Kasich are both forced to “reflect and step back” from their campaigns. An inner awareness that there is “no path forward” for them coming at a time when such strong inner reflection is being invited and Trump’s transit positions are so strong for his own success.

These retrograde actions invite us to really become more aware of what’s happening inside of us. What is working and what is not working. And the Aries New Moon is inviting us to take those new impulses and find a new path forward.

And Saturn and Mars continue to be in Scorpio, really inviting a strong transformational energy around our fears, angers, actions and commitments.  These 2 planets are fueling the changes, the fears and insecurities that are arising, while the retrograde planets are forcing introspection.  A Powerful combination for growth and evolution if we choose to work with it.

I encourage you to take time to reflect and continue the re-visioning process. And then plant the seeds for the next steps towards on your new direction. Continue to observe what’s happening around you. Notice who, what and how people are talking about change and the need for a “new, inspired direction” at this time. And also use the energy to get connected to your own new, inspired direction.

I have created an “Aries Empowerment” Guided meditation to help you do just that. I encourage you to download it, and work with it during this New Moon window especially. 3 Days in a row if you can. It can also be helpful anytime you just need to connect to the part of your self that is capable of courageously taking action in the world. Look for the link to download it on this page.

In the mean time, share with me your own observations of the current Aries filled, retrograde world we are living in. And also share with me your experiences of the Aries Empowerment Meditation. :-)

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.
