Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius - The Invitation to Serve Others - Vedic Astrology Forecast for August 18th, 2016

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius: The Invitation to Serve Others | Vedic Astrology Forecast for August 18th, 2016

On August 18th, 2016 around 5:17am the height of the Full Moon occurred with the Sun in sidereal Leo and the Moon in Sidereal Aquarius. This full moon also occurs on the Eclipse axis of the Nodes.

The recent New Moon in Cancer initiated a lunar cycle of exploring the connection to our emotional hearts, our connections to others and the ways that we use our emotional energy. The invitation for our Soul to open more deeply to love and the possibility of peace had now been carried by the Sun into Leo, where we begin to express our creative nature based upon what we most love.

There is an intensity in Leo at this time, because the Sun (our Power) is joined by Venus (our capacity for Happiness) and Mercury (our intelligence, speech and communication). And to amplify all of this energy, there is also Rahu which represents our collective and personal obsessions and confusions.

Leo is ruled by the Sun, and represents the experience where our Soul shines its light into the world as an individual. It is connected to inspiration and leadership when that Soul is motivated towards good and love, and it can also become domination and overpowering energy when the Soul is motivated towards selfishness or darker influences.

And so here in Leo, Rahu and these three planets are creating a large focus on the journey of the individual soul. Rahu creates a confused obsession with understanding the nature of Leo as the individual creative power manifesting into the world. This has the potential for some to really embrace their creative power, and for others it will be like a self-absorbed actor on stage shouting “Look at me! Look how brilliant and bright I am!”.   Or worse yet, a controlling self-absorbed leader.

Rahu’s energy in Leo can be powerful in focusing us towards much needed personal power and inspired vision, but the journey to gain clarity must be sought through the fog of Rahu’s influence. Yet, the confusion can make us even more determined to figure it out. In the end it serves a positive function to help us open into new expressions and learn what needs to be discovered in order to find deeper truths and wisdom.

Your ability in serving others should not be suppressed but rather, amplified within your relationships in the society

What does the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius Bring?

Meanwhile, the Full Moon is over in Aquarius with Ketu. The Moon represents the mind and our emotional feeling nature. Whereas Leo’s focus is on individual power, Aquarius forms the natural balance point opening into greater awareness of the collective, society and humanitarian expression.

The challenge to this natural balance point is that Ketu tends to create a negative or critical state of confusion. In this case a negation of the needs of the many in favor of Rahu’s obsession with discovering personal creative power. Plus, Leo has much more energy in it due to the 4 planets there.

Under simpler configurations, the invitation of the Full Moon in Aquarius would be deeper awareness of the Collective while also standing in our own personal creative power. But due to the other planets in Leo, and especially the nodes in eclipse mode, it is revealing the deep collective shadow karma of focusing more on serving individual power than the needs of the collective.

The Eclipse amplifies the energy, pointing to the need to heal the deeper imbalance. Sometimes it takes amplification of what isn’t working in order to recognize that change is needed. And this eclipse is inviting that deeper awareness. How do we get back to balance? What needs to be healed and resolved to allow us to include a deeper awareness on the needs of the many?

Of course, it’s wonderful for people to find a sense of inspired personal creative power. And this energy strongly invites the search to find and refine that aspect of our soul’s expression. But we must also be willing to consciously create the balance and honor the needs of the collective as well. Notice now how much of our current global situation have people talking about “me”, and “my needs”, and “my fears”. We all need to stop and re-invite awareness of also considering what serves all of us.

This eclipse and Full Moon is occurring with a short period of time after Jupiter moving into Virgo and Saturn going direction. While it’s true that “change is constant” and a natural part of life, major seed points of change are shown by the planets changing signs, the eclipses and the lunar cycles.

It will be interesting to see what is shaken up from the vibrational plunge into this axis, and what the fallout may be around finding the balance between individual creative power and the needs of the collective as we move through the next 3 to 6 months.

What changes are you experiencing? What is showing up for you around personal creative power in relationship to the needs of society and the global collective? What judgments, limited beliefs, selfish impulses or experiences are showing up within you and those around you that may be revealing invitations to heal and step into a higher state of consciousness in this area?

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.
