Finding Balance Through Letting Go | Full Moon in Pisces | Vedic Astrology Forecast for October 16th, 2016

moon, water, mystical

The current Lunar cycle began with the New Moon in Virgo on October 1st. This cycle invites a focus on the details of our lives that we need to manage and pay attention to in order to create greater health and happiness. This includes exploring the details of diet, sleep routines, digestion, daily routines, and the organization (or lack thereof) we use for setting goals and accomplishing them.

Early morning on October 16th, the Full Moon in Pisces will represent the midpoint of this cycle. Where Virgo represents the intelligent exploration of details, patterns and routines, Pisces is an invitation to let go and surrender.

On one hand, it reminds us that we must find a balance between “the details” and “the big picture”. Obsessing over details can create stress, tension and anxiety. So, first, we need to find the balance. How can we focus on the details while also keeping an open enough perspective we don’t get caught in them? This is in many ways a repeated theme from the Lunar eclipse in Pisces that occurred a month ago.

As part of the current Lunar cycle, it is also about managing the choices we make around our life, daily routines and health. After looking over all these details around health and how we manage our “kingdom” of life, we must also acknowledge at some point that we can’t do everything that is possible. We must narrow things down and select only the best, most effective and impactful choices for us. Pisces as the balance point invites us to begin to surrender and let go of the choices and options that are the lesser or bad choices.

In Virgo, part of the stress itself can actually come from too many choices and not being sure which path to take. Pisces, its opposite and balancing force, is about endings and completions. Letting go and surrender. So, at this time, there may be a process which is revealing what needs to be let go of. This may happen by conscious awareness of seeing that one path feels promising while the other is beginning to reveal its weaknesses and its lack of passion.

Or, if we aren’t consciously paying attention, then the Pisces energy may simply take some of our options away. They will no longer be available to us, and what remains will be the choice that remains.

With Jupiter and Mercury with the Sun in Virgo, they will bring extra grace and discrimination into our soul’s power and the ego’s exploration of these details.

Venus has recently joined Saturn in Scorpio, where our sense of happiness and our personal relationships may begin to feel some pressure. And Scorpio will bring our deeper insecurities to the surface. So if you find yourself experiencing discomfort in your relationships, slow down and use it as an opportunity to heal the inner causes of pain and conflict.

As you look at these influences in your inner and out life, notice what is showing up. What are you ready to let go of? Which details and routines should be kept?

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.

Managing your Health and Life | New Moon in Virgo | Vedic Astrology Forecast for September 30th, 2016

new moon, moon

The New Moon in Sidereal Virgo will occur on September 20thm 2016 around 8:30pm EDT. This begins a new Lunar cycle which will have us focusing on managing the details of our lives.

In Virgo, we experience Mercury operating through the practical nature of Earth. Mercury uses its intelligence to understand and organize the details of the world around us. This also includes our bodies and our health.

The New Moon brings together our Power (Sun) and our emotional heart and mind (moon) in connection with these Virgo themes. Jupiter as our wisdom, inspired purpose and higher teachings is very close to the Sun and Moon, sharing it’s expansive and optimistic nature.

Now is a good time to take inventory of your health and your daily routines to determine what best serves your happiness, health and success. With Jupiter’s presence, there is added support to better care for the body and your physical environment with a higher intention of honoring the Sacredness of the body and the physical experience if you so choose.

Either way, honestly assess your diet, your exercise routine, your sleep and the daily activities your pursue to determine what is supporting your body, health and happiness and what may be throwing it out of balance or adding stress to the body.

Virgo energy has a nervousness to it that can bring stress and anxiety to the nervous system and mind. It is helpful to connect to the dutiful nature of Virgo in order to take the actions needed to best care for yourself and your body, but try not to get so caught in the details or in the worry over your health that it just adds more stress. How can support yourself in relaxing and being more peaceful while also making better choices?

As we are beginning to move into Fall, the Virgo New Moon is even more supportive of making a conscious transition. Fall moving into Winter brings more Cold and Dry qualities, which can dry the skin, dry out the sinuses and aggravate the nervous system. This dry and cold quality in Ayurveda is referred to as Vata. Now would be a great time to get an Ayurvedic Consultation to support both this heightened awareness of managing your health and also the transition into Vata season.

These themes around health and managing your life will be in effect for the next 30 days. And they are also reflected in the collective as the need to manage the health of our nations and our people. This includes literal healthcare, but also the health of our government structures and political systems.

Venus has recently moved into Libra where it heightens our awareness of Relationships, compromise and our desire to seek happiness through our social and romantic connections to others. So, you may have greater awareness or greater desire around relationship and social happiness.

Mars also moved into Sagittarius, which brings enthusiasm, optimism and a sense of higher purpose into our actions and the principles that we choose to defend. This is another indicator that finding a deeper meaning or purpose for managing your health and daily routines may strengthen your motivation and willingness to take action.

So, take some time to reflect on your health, your diet, and sleep. Also, observe how your daily routines may or may not be impacting your health and happiness. Consider getting an Ayurvedic Consultation to help support and coach you around health and daily routines.

And also be curious to see how these themes are showing up in your own life, in the lives of those around you, and in the world.

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.

Balancing Daily Life with Inner Peace | Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces | Vedic Astrology Forecast for September 16th, 2016

moon, full-moon, eclipse

The peak of the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces will occur around 3pm on September 16th, 2016. This is shortly after the Moon enters sidereal Pisces, which shows the eclipse energy itself began with the moon in Aquarius. And the Sun had just entered Virgo about 7 hours prior.

This shows that our Power and soul (Sun) are seeking ways to create practical plans and steps to bring our creative inspiration into form. And our Mind and Emotional heart (Moon) are carrying our higher goals, ambitions and our desire to serve others into greater Universal compassion and surrender.

Ketu, or the South Node, will bring a stronger influence of letting go and falling away. Pisces is a sign of endings, and Ketu eclipsing the Moon will strengthen the letting go of the old and the outdated.

So, we find ourselves at a turning point with this eclipse. Our past goals may be falling away. Either they didn’t bring the level of satisfaction and happiness we imagined, or perhaps they weren’t practical and didn’t work.  Either way, we are needing to let go.

This is like a reset point, and as the Moon continues its journey past the eclipse it will let go of the past and prepare for a new cycle of growth.

The Sun is joining Jupiter and Venus in Virgo, showing our Power (Sun) connecting to our Higher principles, teachings (Jupiter) and our capacity for Happiness (Venus). Virgo brings about a practical plan to express these things into the world. Jupiter will support with hope and optimism and the expansion of practical steps that are needed to bring about positive changes and growth.  It will also encourage our plans to be based upon our higher teachings and deeper sense of meaning and purpose.

Venus in Virgo has the possibility of becoming too picky, however. So we want to be mindful that we don’t make our vision of happiness so rigid and specific that we find fault in other possible opportunities for happiness and positive steps for change. Because Venus is also an indicator for relationships in general, be aware of any feelings of dissatisfaction within your personal relationships and be willing to ask yourself if you are just placing too many expectations upon the ways you are wanting happiness and pleasure to show up for you right now.

Fortunately, the Moon in is Pisces at this time, which helps to bring a natural balance to the detail oriented, hard working and practical nature of Virgo. It reminds us to balance the practical with the ability to also let go and allow the mind to turn away from the stress of the daily world. How can we find a balance between our responsibilities in the world and our inner desire to relax, let go and feel deep inner freedom and peace?

That question becomes an important theme for this Eclipse. And it will reverberate for many months to come. When we become too focused or obsessed with the managing the details of life, it brings about anxiety and stress instead of order and positive support.  How do we find the balance?

So, what have you been feeling pressured by? Where has life become stressful? What worries have you been focusing on that it may be time to let go of or at least take a break from?

When we are caught in the details, it can be helpful to pull back and look at the big picture again. Moon in Pisces helps us let go and see the big picture. Many things we worry about are beyond our control. It may be time to assess what is causing you stress and ask “am I really able to change this?” If you can’t change it, then it is time to let it go during this eclipse window. And if you can change it, and it IS important, then it’s also time to step away from in so you can rest and relax your mind.

Perhaps a short day trip. Or a day at the spa. Or even just a day of doing nothing would be helpful.

Assess where you have been, what has worked and what hasn’t worked. Be willing to ask yourself where your goals and ambitions have shifted. Then take some time to reconnect with your deeper inner nature of love, joy and peace. Once you have refreshed, then begin to get clear on what works and what your true goals are. Then prepare to recreate yourself by asking “what is the one next step I need to take to take my life in this new direction”.

What are your experiences of this current eclipse?

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.

New Moon in Virgo | Vedic Astrology Forecast for October 12th

New MoonThe New Moon in Sidereal Virgo reached its peak point overnight just before moving into October 13th. ushering in a new Lunar cycle. We are still riding the Eclipse cycle energy, which emphasized the integration of Power and Principles into the practical details of life and the effort needed to improve our situation. The Lunar eclipse on September 27th, which closed the cycle, reminded us to really pay attention to the details of our plans, and our need to really focus on the efforts we are making in our lives while also seeking to balance the importance of details with the bigger picture. It also reminded us of our tendency to want to escape when the effort becomes overwhelming.

The New Moon begins a cycle which starts with this energy as its seed point and then seeks to evolve it. On September 9th, Mercury returned direct. This brought the “reflection” period of its retrograde motion to a conclusion. So, now we hopefully have some greater clarity and understanding of the details and the practical plans and efforts that are needed to move forward. The power and action, in connection with Principles and Purpose are still in connection with Mars and Jupiter in Leo. Venus in Leo can bring charm and charisma, but Venus in Leo is also being purified around finding compromise and how we go about finding happiness, as Venus in Leo often is more concerned with being “served” or treated like a kind or queen.

This combination is likely to bring conflict and arguing around principles and values, in both your personal relationships as well as the political and global landscape. You will be challenged to defend your principles in a way that is respectful of others, with a tendency towards “I know I am right” tactics. Because of this, I also suggest that you stop and make sure that your cherished beliefs in these areas are truly valuable, and aligned with higher vision, and thus worth fighting for.

So, Mercury is now direct in Virgo, bringing a high level of intelligence to discrimination, speech and communication. A clear vision of “what needs to be done” and a “practical plan” should be more accessible now. Mercury is able to organize the details, which is has recently reflected upon and refined. The Moon and Sun bring the emotional heart and the Mind, along with the deeper Power and Will into the realm of Virgo, again amplifying awareness of the practical details and the effort needed to implement them. And Rahu adds greater energy to your focus. Rahu is in many ways a boon in this configuration, but still the caution of being so strongly focused on the details that we fail to act must be mentioned. Or getting so caught up in details that the confusion associated with Rahu arises. If this focus on details become “perfectionism”, then it can bring challenges around implementing the plan. No action means no benefit and no growth.

With Mercury in the Nakshatra of Uttara Phalguni, the motivation of discrimination is connected even more strongly with the Virgo quality of “Service”. This nakshatra motivates towards helping others to find happiness, even if that means sacrificing our own happiness to accomplish it. This is not done in a subservient way, but rather as an intentional catalyst to lift up those who need help. Here, well placed Mercury has the opportunity to communicate and implement this level of practical planning.

The Sun and Moon in Chitra Nakshatra remind us to check our motivations. And in the political context, be mindful of the motivations of our leaders and future leaders. Chitra brings a surge of energy towards the construction of new levels of achievement. It is connected to the “celestial architect”, and allows for great wisdom and motivation to manage the details of “the kingdom”.

As caution though, if someone is overly focused on the material plane, here we may find ourselves content with an idea or imagination that “looks good” on the outside. Once we gain recognition and support for this idea, we then lose motivation to actually do the work to bring it about. We mostly wish to be appreciated and recognized for our skills and ideas. And once we feel recognized, we feel fulfilled. But if the individual is more connected to and motivated by a truly higher vision, purpose and set of deeper principles, then Chitra can help to move their vision towards higher social structure and order.

Now, which of those 2 directions do you want YOUR leaders to be aligned with? I would hope and assume that you are wanting a leader who is truly connected to bring positive change to others. And this brings us to the remainder of this New Moon cycle.

Chitra is the “bridge” between Virgo and Libra. Libra is the realm of relationship and learning to find Happiness in connection to others. It is ruled by Venus, which is where we seek happiness. It is also an Air sign which brings an influence of social connection as well as thoughts and intellect. Here, we seek to find happiness through ideas and the connections we experience through other people at the levels of romantic partners, coworkers, business partners, and “others” in general.

In Libra, we take the “master plan” and motivation for service from Virgo, and bring it into Libra for the practical experience of happiness for the benefit of others . In Libra, there is focus on “playing well with other”, as well as motivation towards greater social awareness. Here we learn over time that when others are happy, we can also enjoy greater happiness. Libra teaches us about personal connections of course, but it also expands into a desire for greater social balance and equality.

On a personal level, we must learn that through our efforts of self improvement (Virgo), we are able to evolve our own self and in the process become better at engaging with others at all levels (Libra). We can never evolve our ability to respect others and compromise if we assume that we are perfect as is. We must make efforts to benefit ourself, and also to support the things we love.

On October 17th the Sun will move into Libra and remain there for the remainder of this Moon Cycle. This quickly moves our Power and Self Will into the realm of Libra. The Sun is thought to be challenged in this position because it is more connected to individual will, and as it tries to operate in the realm of others and compromise it finds challenge. This will be discussed more during the Full Moon report for October 27th.

But, what we can understand for now is that our relationship to Others, to Social Equality, as well as to more intimate relationships with lovers and spouses, are being purified at this time. The “challenge” comes from not knowing how to be remain in our individual power while operating within the field of “others”. The motivation to “make others happy” can swing too far in that direction. So the Purification happens around learning the true balanced art of compromise and mutual respect in an effort to find happiness for all involved.

For yourself personally, be mindful of how your own “master plan” is being implemented and brought into the realm of “others”. Become aware of the “Payoff” to the hard work that Virgo motivates you towards. Notice where you may be inclined to “give in” to make another happy without really honoring your own needs. And realize, that the recent time of reflection around details is over. You are likely more inclined to want to put these plans and structures into action and into place. Also be mindful of fighting battles over your principles where you either don’t fight fair, or perhaps you are even fighting for something that isn’t as valuable as you have once imagined.

And as you are watching other around you and the political unfoldings, begin to examine not only “Do they have a true plan”, but “are the truly motivated in service of the greater good?” Or, will the candidate be content knowing you approved of their vision and then fail to actually put in the effort to make it happen? Expect “plans” around “social structure and equality” to be in focus over the next month. As well as seeing candidates being more obviously “not playing well with others”. And more arguments and debates around principles and political visions.

Notice these themes in yourself, you friends and in the world. What are your experiences?

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.

Lunar Eclipse in Pisces | Vedic Astrology Forecast for September 27th, 2015

Lunar Eclipse-dreamstime_xs_40051300Today, September 27th, is the day of the Lunar Eclipse. The Window of the eclipse on the East Coast will begin a little after 9pm, reach its fullest moment around 10:50pm, and then complete around 12:30am on September 28th. Depending upon weather and cloud cover, it should be fully visible.

This lunar eclipse is the integration of the cycle that was began at the Partial Solar Eclipse on September 13th. Here the themes of our use of our creative intelligence and power began in Sidereal Leo. And the transit of the Sun into Virgo with Rahu and Mercury bring the evolution of power into managing the practical details required to manifest the Power and Vision in practical ways.

So the broader cycle of the Solar Eclipse cycle has been about managing and organizing the details into practical steps in order to bring our creative desires and power into the tangible world. Virgo is the sign where we learn to manage the detail of the “kingdom”, and to implement them in an organized, structured way in order for us to maintain and improve our situation in life. This often involves doing tasks that are not pleasant, but are necessary.

For instance, it may be more enjoyable to eat donuts than to eat a piece of fruit, but the fruit offers nutrition and health sustaining properties where as the donut is anything but. We must maintain our cars. We must get the laundry done. We must make efforts to keep our homes clean and tidy. We must care for the body, or it is more likely to experience health problems.

These are all the domain of Virgo. The necessary details and tasks of life that are required to keep things running smoothly.

Shortly after the Sun moved into Virgo on September 17th, Mercury went retrograde. Mercury is considered to operate most intelligently in Virgo. It rules Virgo, and Mercury’s natural inclination to explore new perspectives and enhance proper discernment and discrimination of the practical details finds its highest comfort zone here.

Mercury retrograde is notoriously associated as “bad” with technology glitches and failings, mechanical problems, as well as miscommunications. But, the Retrograde action of Mercury causes inward reflection. It is a time to reflect on ideas, concepts, details and practical needs that we may or may not be managing properly, and less a time for implementing them and acting on them. By “taking inventory” internally, we grow and evolve our understanding of what is working and what is not, and this refines our action plan. As Mercury goes direct, we potentially have new insight and even better strategies for managing our lives, our health and our projects.

With Rahu joined Mercury Retrograde and the Sun, our Power (the Sun) in conjunction with Speech and Communication (Mercury) are being amplified by the obsessive nature of Rahu. We are compelled to pay attention, compelled to reflect, compelled to seek new understanding. Rahu is associated with creating a confused obsession. And the confusion that it brings forces us to stop, and pay even more close attention in order to discriminate what is valuable and true from what doesn’t serve us and is false.

With Mercury Retrograde and Sun in Virgo, Rahus energy is really demanding that we “pay attention to details” in a very real way. Why do miscommunications happen in Mercury retrograde? Because we haven’t paid attention to details. Why to mechanical issues occur? Because we haven’t maintained them and done the work to keep them working well. Why do we experience technology issues? Because the details of software code, processing chips, Internet and/or hardware aren’t working together properly.

We experience these “problems” during Mercury retrograde because it is forcing us to pay attention to what needs to be improved, upgraded and better organized.

Likewise this may be a time when you are reminded that the way you are managing your health, your home, your vehicle, your projects, etc may be revealed to not be working as well as you would hope. What areas of your life are in need of upgrading and improving?

As the Moon Moves into Pisces for the Eclipse, this reaches the highest integration point. Under normal circumstances, this integration point between Virgo and Pisces would be learning to soften our obsession with “details”, and learning to find a balance between honoring the importance of details with letting go and being ok with more space, openness and expansion into the unknown. With Ketu here, it brings up a natural negation and rejection. So the Mind (moon), as it touches into Pisces, receives this negating effect of Ketu which may create a desire to escape from the practical details of the world.

Even so, the Moon in Pisces is reminding us to keep the “big Picture” in perspective, even while we are obsessing about the details.  Being too caught in the details can create the “can’t see the forest for the trees” mentality.  But the desire to escape from the details doesn’t help us manage the practical details either.

We are being collectively invited to REALLY pay attention to our lives and the details and implementations of Power. Not only our own individual power and creativity, but the Power of the Government, our political and spiritual leaders. The power of our bosses and CEO’s. To question how anything and anyone we give a role of Power in our lives is actually implementing that power. Are they organizing it to streamline and improve our lives, or are they disorganized and failing to focus on using their power to lift us up and serve us?

At the same time, we need to seek balance and keep the big picture in mind, and not obsess about details for the sake of details.  Finding the balance of relaxing and expanding, while also doing the work that needs to be done.

I find it interesting and wonderful that this energy is so strongly happening as Presidential candidates are campaigning. The world and our Nation are hungry for change as it becomes clearer that large corporations and political leaders, at least sometimes, fail to serve the interests of the people and instead channel their power for more self-serving ends. What values do these leaders have, and what is their practical plan to use their power and to serve the people of our nation and of the world? Are they striving for a better world? Do they have a plan?

These themes are being amplified through the cycle of the eclipses, and my hope is that this signifies much greater awareness of choosing wisely in order to give power to those who truly are serving our best interests.

On September 30th, Venus will return to Leo to join Mars and Jupiter. This combination continues to bring passion and action (Mars) in connection to our Values and Principles (Jupiter). Venus brings some charisma and charm, and greater awareness of finding happiness in connection to Values and Principles. As always, Mars can potentially bring a little hot headed conflict and debate as it uses its strength and courage to fight for what it believes is right. You will continue to see these among those campaigning, and in the world around you.

We also see with Mars and Venus here a restoration to using our strength to set stronger boundaries (Mars) in relationships (Venus) and around our highest values and principles (Jupiter).

Mercury will remain retrograde until October 9th, turning direct just 3 days before the New Moon in Virgo.

The Three planets in Leo (Mars, Venus and Jupiter) and the Three Planets in Virgo (Mercury, Sun and Rahu) are bringing a lot of energy into these 2 signs. Collectively, it shows the emphasis of the Eclipse cycle as being even more amplified. How is Power in connection with Values and Principles being manifested through practical principles and details. And especially now, we may be being forced to deal with the details that are not working.

These three planets in Leo and three in Virgo are also showing a strong influence in your personal chart natal chart by transit. This influence will be unique for you, based upon the unique configuration of your Natal chart.

The Eclipse will set up a strong vibration related to these themes that will continue to ripple for months to come.

Collectively, continue to watch the pre-election activities. Personally, notice how you are being shown areas of your life that are in need of “maintenance”.

Notice that it will be harder to “escape” and ignore these details as well, even though there may be a desire to escape. The practical will be finding ways into your awareness. What is working? What needs upgrading? What needs to be scrapped and re-organized? How are you using your own personal power? Is there a plan? What steps are you taking to implement it?  And where are you wanting to escape and dissolve into “easy” rather than take responsibility for your life.

What have YOU noticed around these themes in your own life?

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.
