Rest and Enjoyment Brings Balance | Full Moon in Taurus | Vedic Astrology Forecast for December 13, 2016

full moon in taurus

The exact point of the Full Moon will happen at 7:06pm EST on Tuesday, December 13th, 2016. It will be in Sidereal Taurus, opposite the Sun in Scorpio. The effect of the Full Moon will be felt most strongly for two days before and after the exact time.

The Full Moon is the midpoint in the Lunar cycle and is an integration point. It is when the mind and feeling nature (Moon) try to balance and harmonize with the power of our soul and sense of self (Sun).

This Lunar Cycle began with the New Moon in Scorpio, and we are now at the midpoint with the Full Moon. The New Moon invited a deeper awareness of the fears and insecurities that are dwelling below the surface of awareness, while also inviting us to explore more deeply our hidden power and potential. This process creates transformation, although it sometimes comes with emotional ups and down, unexpected experiences or sudden changes.

The Sun as Soul’s power is still in Scorpio, but the Mind and feelings shown by the Moon have come into Taurus. The Moon and Mind are given greater groundedness and stability here to help harmonize the instability often created by Scorpio.

As the Moon comes into Taurus, it reminds us that comfort, pleasure and enjoyment of family and our material resources helps us to feel more secure and more stable. Good food, a massage, some sensual indulgence of pleasure, nature, and good times with our family and friends helps to bring some enjoyment back in to life. It reminds us that life can be good, and makes the ups and down of life easier to handle.

So, I encourage you to allow yourself to relax, to rest and to enjoy the things that bring you happiness and pleasure in the world. Allow your senses to enjoy the tastes, the pleasures, the textures, the beauty and the smells that are most expanding, inspiring and delightful to you. Reconnect with the joys and pleasures that life has to offer, and see how that helps to stabilize your mind and balance out the changes and unknown factors we have all been experiencing recently.

Mercury is currently in Sagittarius, which brings some inspiration and hope to our speech and communication. And Venus is in Capricorn, reminding us of the need to create proper boundaries in relationships, and to be practical in pursuing happiness and pleasure.

Mercury will also be turning Retrograde on Dec 19th. So, it will begin slowing down between the Full Moon and the 19th. You may feel communications slowing down also, or coming to a halt in preparation for deeper inner reflection during the retrograde period.

What experiences are you noticing with the Full Moon energy and the current lunar cycles? Have you been feeling the ups and downs and the instability of change in the last couple of weeks? And are you also feeling the fullness and the stabilizing forces of the Full Moon and the desire to enjoy life again?

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.

Awakening Your Inner Power | New Moon in Scorpio | Vedic Astrology Forecast for November 29, 2016

New Moon in scorpioDuring the Morning of November 29th, the New Moon will occur in the sign of Sidereal Scorpio. The New Moon is when the Sun and Moon are in the same degree of the same area of the sky, and it marks the beginning of a new Lunar cycle.

The Sun represents our personal power and sense of self identity, and the moon represents our mind, emotional heart and capacity to feel. And Scorpio is a sign where we are learning to strengthen our emotional self.

Scorpio is ruled by Mars, which is our courage and strength. And Scorpio is also a water sign, which reveals its connection to our Emotional nature. Scorpio teaches us to develop our strength and courage by learning to face fears, insecurities and the hidden parts of our selves. When we face with the mindset of accepting rather than rejecting we integrate them, and the emotional and psychic energy that was previously used to push these things away or reject them becomes available to use in more positive ways.

Scorpio is a sign of transformation, where we face the ups and downs of life and our own inner nature. Through Scorpio’s influence, we learn that when life brings us challenges and conflicts that it is really an invitation to grow, heal and evolve.

With Mars itself in Capricorn right now, we are given extra support to use our strength and courage in committed and disciplined ways. While the New Moon itself invites the process of facing our fears and hidden nature.

You may notice many opportunities to grow, to transform and to heal at this time. But it’s important that you be paying attention to recognize the invitation. If you aren’t paying attention, then it may simply feel like conflict, insecurity and emotional pain.  You may even act out some of the shadow or hidden parts of your inner nature.

Saturn is still in Scorpio, which brings added influence around bringing up fears. But it also has been doing the work of teaching us how to commit to this process of growth and transformation.

This New Moon plants the seed into our hearts and minds to explore this process of transformation through facing our fears and embracing our hidden nature, the dark or shadow parts of our psyche.

Mercury and Venus are both in Sagittarius right now. Mercury here will support our speech, communication and intellectual curiosity to be connected to inspiration, hope and a desire for higher teachings and wisdom. And Venus here will connect our capacity for happiness with higher teachings and principles as well.

Through the arrangement of Sun, Moon and Saturn in Scorpio, Venus and Mercury in Sagittarius and Mars in Capricorn, there is a strong bridge of change and inspiration occurring. As we face fears and disappointments in Scorpio, we are inspired to seek higher truth and meaning for our lives in Sagittarius. And Capricorn invites us to explore the level of commitment and responsibility we are willing to take on to put our principles into action in the world.

Out of the darkness and pain of Scorpio arises the inspiration to seek deeper meaning in the world beyond our individual suffering. Scorpio becomes a transformational cauldron that changes the inner vibrations of our emotional heart and our subconscious desires in order to support a higher vision for our life.

During this time, I suggest you pay special attention to the conflicts, the challenges and the painful experiences that arise. And try to remember they are invitations to healing and to grow. Rather than resisting your inner discomfort, be willing to sit with it. Smile at it. Get to know it.

Be willing to sit with the unknown and the parts of yourself that live in the shadows that you have not yet fully understood or accepted. Your presence to simply be with all of this without judgement will infuse acceptance and love into these places within you, which helps to heal them and weave them back into your experience of Wholeness.

The energy released and freed up from this process can then be directed into greater strength and positive potential in the world. It allows you to literally raise your vibration and become more confident, joyful and vibrant in the world.

This process happening in Scorpio is really the place where Tantra begins. Discovering our hidden power, transforming our fears and insecurities into strengths and consciously shifting our vibration into higher and higher states. This is the path of Conscious Evolution and Growth, or Tantra.

What are you noticing in your life and around you in relationship to these themes?

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.

Returning to Inspiration after Fear | New Moon in Scorpio | Vedic Astrology Forecast for December 11th, 2015

New MoonToday begins the energetic window leading up to the New Moon in Scorpio on the morning of December 11th. The Moon has already entered Scorpio and, as I discussed in the Taurus Full Moon report, the Moon in Sidereal Scorpio is a challenging position.

We have had a 2 week period of learning to stabilize our fears through the Full Moon influence, and now the New Moon in Scorpio begins a new cycle of transformation. On November 29th, several days after the Full Moon, Venus transited into Libra. Here, our capacity for happiness and our ability to compromise with others returns to more stable and supportive ground. This transit also shows our Capacity for Happiness is finally stepping away from the agitation and conflict prone influence of Mars that has created many challenges for relationships and healthy compromise for the last several months.

On the morning of December 6th, Mercury transited into Sagittarius. Leaving the influence of Scorpio’s connections to dark emotions, fears, insecurities and unexpected changes, our capacity for communication (Mercury) steps out of the connection to “hidden power” and into a sign of hope, optimism and higher principles. These two recent transits (Mercury and Venus) bring a more supportive and positive influence to allow us collectively to discuss recent terrorist events, as well as personal insecurities and emotional upheavals we may have had, in a more inspired way. Mercury in Sagittarius provides a more hopeful conversation based upon higher principles, and Venus allows us to be more considerate, diplomatic and respectful of others as we try to find understanding and solutions that honor the collective.

Interestingly, the day after Mercury shifted, on December 7th, it was announced that Donald Trump has publicly stated his proposed “Ban on Muslims” entering our country. Mercury is a double indicator of speech for him, as it rules the second house in his natal chart. Mercury also rules his 11th house, revealing that communication and speech are connected to his highest ambitions. And Sagittarius in his natal chart is the 5th house of creative potential and his desire to share with the world what he most loves and what most brings him peace. As Mercury enters Sagittarius, he is spontaneously inspired to communication his own higher ambitions, values and principles that are dearest to his heart. The “Ban on Muslims” is therefore him revealing his highest ideals and what he feels most passionate about. (What might this reveal about his character?) It happens to come while Sun and Saturn are still connecting energy to our collective fear, and while the emotional energy of the moon is waning and preparing to enter Scorpio, where it will again experience a feeling of vulnerability.

As the New Moon activates in Scorpio, we are beginning a new Lunar cycle that starts with a reminder of entering into our fears with the invitation to transform them. Hopefully, we can carry the lessons of stabilizing the mind that we learning through the recent Full Moon. Because the Sun will transition into Sagittarius on December 16th, this New Moon cycle will carry with it the energy of evolving past our fears.

In Scorpio, we come face to face with our fears and insecurities. We get experiences of the ups and downs of life. We face the challenges of relationship. And through this process, while we are learning to transform our fears into higher levels of personal power, inner strength and confidence, we are also invited to discover through our own experiences some “harsh” realities: Life offers no guarantees of happiness. We cannot expect “other” to make us happy. Even the best of relationships will one day end and thus do to not offer “permanent” happiness to us. We must make personal efforts to evolve, transform, stabilize our minds and seek higher and higher understanding of where our happiness truly comes from, or we will remain in the unstable emotional waters of our inner fears.

It is with these lessons, both of inner strength and the realization of these “harsh realities”, that we are invited to step into Sagittarius. Here, we begin the search for happiness beyond the realm of personal relationships. This is where religion, spirituality, higher teachings, higher purpose and a connection to something beyond our individual self and personal relationships is inspired into experience. Here we connect with hope and inspiration that there IS something of meaning and purpose to all of the challenges we face in life. That there is a way to cultivate a deeper peace that we have not yet truly stabilized in the world in a permanent way. This hope and optimizing inspires a quest for deeper truth in all realms. There IS a way out of our fears, our insecurities, our suffering. And, in Sagittarius we connect to that hope and inspiration and search.

We must understand that in this context “religion and higher teachings” can really be boiled down to the principles, values and meanings that we hold most dear. Not everyone thinks of themselves as “religious or spiritual” and even for those who do, not all of our “personal philosophies” are necessarily directly linked to the teachings of our faith. But it is universally true that everyone has a personal philosophy on life and its deeper meaning (or lack there of).

Trump has given a public face to one of his “personal philosophies” and spoken it allowed. What concerns me more is not “that he thinks that way”, but that his personal beliefs may (unintentionally) fuel fear and hatred among those who are in a less stabilized state of mind right now. There has already been a rise in reports of anti-Muslim sentiment within the USA, and other parts of the world. This all arising with heavy influences of Saturn, Sun and (recently) Mercury in Scorpio. Fears, insecurities and “hidden power” leading to irrational conclusions and irrational acts. And Trumps statements, to some, may be seen as “defending against the enemy”.

“Muslims” are not the enemy, and we cannot allow fear to distort the facts. When we take our “fear”, hatred and unevolved understandings and infuse it into our “personal philosophy” – well that’s what terrorist do. And that is where the problem lies. We can’t solve the problem by making the same mistake in logic that is causing these issues to begin with.

This is why, in Scorpio, we must learn to stabilize the mind and evolve beyond irrational fears and insecurities. We MUST transform our fears into a peaceful mind with strengthen emotional clarity. ONLY THEN, can we step into Sagittarius and create a “personal philosophy” which is based upon clarity, peace and a connection to a deeper Truth.

Of course, the “terrorists” will also be inspired by this same shift into Sagittarius, as it will fuel their own hopes and personal philosophies as well. But hopefully, the majority of us that truly want peace, can use this same inspired energy to reconnect to hope and deepen our own faith in something beyond the recent frightening events. Hopefully we can reconnect with a hope and optimism that reminds us that “most people are inherently good”, that “love heals” and to “treat others as we would like to be treated”.  A few “bad apples” doesn’t require that we destroy all apple trees.

The Scorpio energy, in many ways, is the entry point into the Path of Tantra Yoga.  In Tantra we learn to discover the Hidden Power within us that can be used to Transform our inner fears, insecurities and limitations.  And from that evolution of Inner Power we develop Self-Mastery of Life Force Energy and the Forces of Creation. Through these experiences, it evolves into a conscious Tantric Path which seeks higher meaning and understanding of Self and of life.

Over the next several days, I encourage you to explore your own irrational fears in a balanced and peaceful way. To intentionally become part of evolving the Collective vibration towards stability and peace (as discussed in the Taurus Full Moon report). And then, as the Sun shifts into Sagittarius in the early morning hours of December 16th, begin more and more to connect to an inspired philosophy that encourages growth, peace, love and truth. We cannot always know “what is hidden”, but we can learn to stabilize our minds and hearts amidst the insecurity of the unknown and choose a higher path of truth, love and hope.

What, for you, are the philosophies, the teachings, or the ideas that give meaning and inspiration, and how can you cultivate them more right now?

The above is a general Vedic Astrology Forecast. It discusses the shifts that are happening at the level of the Collective experience, as well as how you can use that Collective energy for your own growth and evolution.

Finding Personal Peace Amidst Terrorism | Full Moon in Taurus | Vedic Astrology Forecast for November 25th, 2015

FullMoonOverWaterBefore I discuss the Full Moon in Sidereal Taurus on Wednesday November 25th, I want to offer some thoughts on recent terrorist events in relationship to the Astrological shifts over the past several months.

In November of 2014, Saturn shifted from Sidereal Libra into Scorpio. In Transit, Saturn functions to “put pressure” on the areas that it effects. It is the “final judge” that steps in and reveals the truth beyond illusion by pointing out very practical realities. When something isn’t working and Saturn comes along, it breaks it so that you have no choice but to deal with the reality of it. Saturn represents the structures of life that we often try to avoid dealing with, but are inevitable. Things such as death, the limitations of time, loss, and obstacles.

When we learn to honor Saturn’s limitations, we understand that we must shift our actions and our motivation. Because there is a limitation of time, we must “live in the moment” and work hard to accomplish our Heart’s deepest desires now, because we may not be able to tomorrow. We learn to accept that things change, that what we love will one day no longer exist, and through that process we learn to have proper and healthy detachment. It invites us to search for deeper Happiness and peace beyond the outer world, because over time we realize through Saturn’s experiences that everything in this world is impermanent. It breaks things that aren’t working and it forces us to strengthen the things we value, because if we do not, they too will be broken through lack of effort.

Scorpio is a water sign, showing its connection to emotions. And is ruled by Mars, which is our capacity for strength and action. In Scorpio, we experience our hidden fears and insecurities. It contains the hidden nature that is potentially dark and uncomfortable. It is also the hidden power and the secretive underground. What Scorpio invites us to do is develop our Strength as a means to transform our fears, and convert our hidden power into a force that strengthens us.

As Saturn moved into Scorpio, it began to put pressure on our collective fears and insecurities. It began to put pressure on the hidden uses of power in our culture and government. It began to put pressure on secretive and hidden things. We have seen these effects through greater awareness of abuse of power within government and police, other scandals with politicians, religious leaders and celebrities. That which has wanted to remain hidden has been broken and forced into awareness.

In an unevolved state, the experience of Scorpio is about defending at all costs through emotional reactivity. When fear and insecurity arise, it acts like the scorpion, becoming defensive and repeatedly attacking through its poisonous stinging tail. In a really unevolved state, it may even thrive on the infliction of fear and pain, as it becomes overly identified with the “rush” of “hidden power” to control, manipulate and use the fears and insecurities of others to its advantage.

This very unevolved state is the breeding grounds for terrorism, the rise in school shootings and other other acts of destruction and violent. This state of being is obviously a dark and dangerous place to be. But, by itself it just broods in a small circle. However, when this lower state of evolution because connected to a “Philosophy and sense of purpose”, that’s when it expands.

In July of 2015, Jupiter moved into the sign of Leo. Here Leo brings inspired action to Jupiter as principles, purpose, teachings, sense of Truth and Religious beliefs. In my Jupiter Enters Leo report, I made mention that this placement “will give rise to Religious zealots and fundamentalists who will also be inspired to act upon their own principles in their role as leaders”, while also discussing that less evolved Leo people “can become tyrants and seek to dominate and control others by forcing their own principles and dogma onto others.”

While much positive and inspiring has been possible for all of us, unfortunately, those who are driven by dogma and fear have also been “inspired” down their own egotistical, unevolved path. While the recent Sun and Moon cycles moved through Virgo, asking us to create the practical plans we need to act on our inspirations, the Terrorist group known as ISIS was also doing the same thing.

The conjuctions of Mars and Venus, which has caused many of us personal issues in relationships by bringing more agitation and arguments, was also giving rise to increased agitation in ISIS, fueling greater violence on the happiness of others.

And as the Sun and Moon moved into Libra and we began to feel low energy and our own personal power weakened, this energy was causing the members of ISIS to lower their personal power and become more aligned with their group’s ideologies and desires as they began bringing their “practical plans” into fruition by Bombing a Russian Plane on October 31st and staging a large coordinated attack on Paris on the late evening of November 13th.

Both of these events happened while the Sun was in Libra and personal power was at its weakest point. So Power (Sun) was operating through the domain of other with a more social and group influence. Weak personal power, unable to stand up and say “no”. I can only imagine that someone willing to be a “suicide bomber” and “die for their cause and organization” must have a weakened sense of Self at many levels, as they are seeking a sense of power and importance through pleasing their leaders and through an ideology which gives them a taste of being connected to something bigger than their own “lesser” self.

On November 16th, the Sun and Mercury transitioned into Scorpio. On that day and in the few days that followed the investigations began bringing the hidden truths into the light of awareness. Fingerprints verifying identities emerged on the 16th. On the 17th, Russia formally confirmed the plane was bombed. On the 18th, several people connected to the Paris events were arrested, and the “mastermind” was declared and confirmed to be dead. And, even the defending nations through military and police efforts were forced to reply upon “hidden power” through secret operations to retaliate. Scorpio energy defending against Scorpio energy.

Along with “the secretive coming to light”, there has been a rise in fear, heightened “security” across the globe. The energy of Scorpio is high with Saturn, Sun and Mercury now placed there.

In my most recent report on the New Moon in Libra, I discussed the lowered sense of Self power moving into Scorpio as a way of facing our insecurities and fears. The invitation from Scorpio is to transform our fears and insecurities, and strengthen our Inner Emotional state. I spoke about the personal journey of Scorpio evolving us through personal relationships.

And now, a more global, collective set of fears has arisen through the Scorpio energy. And it is inviting the same: For us collectively to transform our fears and insecurities. To use tragedy and adversity to become stronger and more resilient. To try to banish and overcome the misuse of hidden power.

If we, collectively or individually, succumb to primal fear, then the Terrorists have won. Obviously, there are real threats that need to be dealt with. Restoring safety to our world IS a necessity and a priority and hopefully the involved countries will do so swiftly and intelligently. But, we the people… how do we response when we aren’t in a position to personally defend our nation? Do we change our behavior? Travel less? Become more afraid of life?

Or do we take time to reflect? To show compassion to those who have lost family and friends, while also being able to have gratitude for our own relative safety?

The Full Moon in Taurus on November 25th becomes an integration point for this Karmic lesson. The Full moon window begins on November 23rd and will last through November 27th. As the Moon enters Taurus it finds the place that it functions the best. And it acts as a powerful balancing point for the heightened energy in Scorpio.

Our Power (the Sun), speech and communication (Mercury), and our endurance and practicality (Saturn) are in Scorpio. The Moon is very unstable and irrational in Scorpio, but in the opposite sign of Taurus it learns a powerful lesson about how to endure the fears, insecurities and the ups and downs of unknowns and unexpected changes. Taurus grounds and stabilizes the Mind and Emotions (the Moon). As a practical experience, this will help to calm the collective heart and mind. As a lesson for our growth and healing, it teaches us that the way to traverse the rough emotional waters of fears and emotional upheavals is to develop a stronger capacity to ground and stabilize the Mind. If the mind can remain calm amidst turbulence, then one can remain centered and calm. With a calm mind, we have a choice to respond to situations with calmness and compassion. If the mind “goes for a ride” with the turbulence, then the mind itself feels unstable and more fearful or reactive. In that turbulent state, things feel out of control and the primal impulse arises as a reaction to defend itself, leading to irrational fear and misdirected violence.

Taurus is also a sign of enjoyment and worldly happiness that values wealth, abundance, beauty and pleasure. It is ruled by Venus which teaches us how to share happiness with others.

I find it interesting that the Full Moon window will include Thanksgiving Day in the United States. I encourage those that are spending time with family to use the time of connection, good food, shared enjoyment and the abundance of the season as a way of consciously restoring a sense of peace and wellbeing. Really allow yourself to savor the Gratitude for all that you have, for your family, your friends, your safety, and allow that to Nurture and stabilize the Mind and the Heart.

You may also find it helpful to use a meditation practice to help calm the mind. (If you don’t have one, you can Get my Free Report on using Mantra for Self Healing here).

The Sun will remain in Scorpio for a little while longer. In fact the next New Moon will also be in Scorpio. But it is this current FULL MOON in Taurus that we really want to grasp and integrate, and try to carry it with us as we move forward. It is the key to remaining calm and centered amidst fears and change. So begin to practice that in your personal relationships, with your friends, and family, and allow that sense of stability to expand its way into the Collective Heart. We all need peace and stability right now, and you can do your part for us all by taking care of your own Self. The more models of peaceful minds we have, the more others who are feeling challenged have something to help ground them.

Do not deny any fear you may have, but allow it to dissolve into inner stability of mind. Don’t ignore the turbulence that may arise, but instead learn to remain calm even while it is occurring. This also benefits in personal relationships, as so many arguments are created through emotionally reacting to fear and insecurity. Continue to rest and take care of yourself.
